Boxes, Boxes, Bags and Tags

 
Hi Stampers!
I apologize for not updating my blog for a week or more. My computer has been in the "hospital." Actually, ended up to be time for a new one. So, hopefully, I will do better in May.

Here is a photo of one of the boxes we are going to make in the B.B.B. & T.  class on Wednesday,
May 5th at 6:30pm. We will make this along with one bag and another box. Cost is $15.00 -OR- a $25.00 minimum order.

 Last post I told you that Paula had come over to "play" with brayering. Here is her card. Awesome, huh? I will be sure she gets any comments you leave.  Again, we were using a set out of the new Summer Mini that will be available May 1st.

First Attempt

Hi Stampers!
WOW! Is it ever different trying to do a brayered card without Michele Zindorf telling you every step to make!!  Paula came over the other night to "play" after we attended Zindorf's workshop in the Dallas area.  This is my first feeble attempt at a brayered card using a ship stamp that I pre-ordered from the new Summer Mini catalog that we will be able to order from on May 1st. I will continue honing my skills until I get something together that I think you stampers would like to do in a class. Send me any pretty sunset photos you have or any pretty AND simple scenery.

Booking Cake

 

Hi Stampers! 

 The blog today is especially for demonstrators who are visiting. I made a "Booking Cake" today. It will be used at my Group Gathering in May in a drawing. The pattern for it can be found on the demonstrator website under Show & Tell, Pattern Library, Boxes, and is #44Box Pattern. This typically has coupons inside each 'slice' of cake used as an incentive to book workshops...hence "Booking Cake." HOWEVER, wouldn't it be cute to house bridesmaid gifts or for a shower filled with desert recipes, etc. I have the ribbon secured on the top with the brad and on the bottom with velcro so each piece can be re-used. Let me know what you think!

Happy Easter! This is an easel card that we made in all my Stamper Six clubs this month. It uses:

Special Blessings (113411) and Teeny Tiny Wishes (115370) stamp sets

Soft Suede (115318) and Very Vanilla (101650) card stock 

"Bridesmaid" specialty designer series paper (116479)

 Elegant Bouquet embossing folder (115964) with the Big Shot (113493)

Very Vanilla taffeta ribbon (109071)

 Largest pearl from the Pretties Kit  (109114)

Here is a side view of the card.

The "card" (S. Suede) is cut in half lengthwise. (4.25" x 11") Scored at 5 1/2" and 8 1/4". On this sample, the V.Vanilla card is cut at 5.5 x 4.25, the S. Suede at 5.25 x 4, the stamped on V. Vanilla at 5 x 3.75  We used Crystal Effects and Dazzling Diamonds on the cross and flowers. Hope you will try it. Good luck!

Proof that we were there!

Hi Stampers! 

Well, here we are...Paula and I with THE Michelle Zindorf between us. We had a FABULOUS weekend workshop with her and brought plenty of tips back with us. I am posting a couple of the cards we did, with permission from Michelle to do so. I can tell you...the classes were phenomenal!! The atmosphere was relaxed and she lead us step-by-step through each project. Paula and I were VERY glad that we took the beginner class one day and the Advanced class the next. There were some ladies in our Advanced group that had been at the beginner class that same morning. I cannot imagine because I was exhausted with just the one advanced class. Just want to say...it was SO worth the time and money!! We are working on booking her to come to Victoria. She is already booked all the way through 2010 and is planning her 2011 schedule as I type. 

Here is how we were set up.

OK...Here is my first feeble attempt at brayering. Was not lack of instruction, just lack of experience.

This wolf was the final one of the beginner workshop. Came a long way, huh?

This is the first card we did in the Advanced class. It is my personal favorite.

And, this is the grand finale. Go back and look at that first card and then this one. Isn't it amazing how far she brought me in two 3 hour classes!?! If you ever get the opportunity to attend one of her workshops, my advise is JUST DO IT!
