Disney fun

Hello Stampers!
How many of you are going Disney World or Disney Land this summer? How about having a Disney themed birthday party? Here is a SIMPLE 12" x 12" double page spread that is just waiting for any and all photos of your event to be matted with black or white card stock.  I like keeping my layouts very simple and without the mats already made and adhered so that the page can fit the pictures rather than having to have the pictures to fit the page.  I used 1-1/2" strip of Basic Black card stock with a 1-1/4" strip of Real Red Glimmer paper for the borders. The letters were cut with the new Little Letters Thinlits (a MUST have for everyone!!)  Mickey was made with Basic Black card stock punched with the 2-1/2" circle punch and the 1-3/4" circles for his ears.

Grand Finale Scrapbook Story

 Hello Stampers!
Well, here is the ending to the night. Belle was very tired and became shy when asked to sit on the "real Belle's" lap. To make this layout, I had to really do some work. The original photograph had Belle sitting on the actress's lap and the "Beast turned prince" sitting in another chair a little ways away looking on. That is not the look I wanted so I had the photograph printed in an 8 x 10 then  fussy cut out both Belle with Belle and the prince then paper pieced them side by side. Our stamp set Dressed Up was the perfect choice to add gold embossed wand, tiara and mirror. Hope you like it. 

And, finally, they wanted to keep the program and brochure about the event so I made this Pocket page. I used Sticky strip on three sides so it is strong enough to hold the items. Five pages later, the memory is recorded. Happy to report that "Mom, Dad:" and Belle all like the pages. And, isn't that what it is all about?

Scrapbook Page

 Hi Stampers!
Here is the two page spread that I created to tell the story of the evening Belle got to go to the theater with her mom and dad to see Beauty and the Beast.  When I scrapbook, I want the photos to be the focus of the page so mostly keep them very simple...as is this page.

 The first picture, I semi-bordered with Melon Mambo, the color of Belle's dress and did the jounaling in the same color.

 I fussy cut carefully around the baby granddaughter and my oldest son to mount them on a contrasting color to make it stand out. Check out the face...WHAT?!?

Finally, a smile. Had to be that she figured would that she was going to be alone with Grammy, Grandpa and Uncle Pablo to play the night away in peace. :-)

Here is pictured the young lady and young man who did an outstanding performance of Beauty and the Beast and the ticket stubs. Be sure to click on the photos to see them larger.
As you can see, the only matchy, matchy thing about this double page spread is that both are on a So Saffron color background. It is SO easy to scrapbook with Stampin' Up! supplies that all match.  Again, I am trying to tell a story or remember and event, not impress people with my craftiness. How do you teach this?

Scrapbooking and Why I Find it Difficult to Teach

Hi Stampers!

 I want to show you what I was working on this last week. My oldest granddaughter, Belle, came to town a while back to go to "Beauty and the Beast" at our community theater. She was SO excited about going. I wanted to create a few scrapbook pages to remember the event. This is the first page. Getting ready and waiting. I know...we are told to "limit the number of photos" of an event. OK. Which one of these would I eliminate? The many faces of Belle as she anticipates the evening. 

 Showing me her dress and me telling her she looks like a princess and needs a tiara. Sitting with feet in the bathroom sink to don her crown.

 Then planning on patiently waiting...I had to fussy cut out the big chair she was sitting in to wait.

Presto Vintage

 
Hi Stampers!
Wow! June got here quickly!! May, as you know, is National Scrapbooking Month. In honor of that and to honor my aunt and uncle, I did this scrapbook page using the new Presto Patterns Specialty Designer Series Paper found on page 15 of the Summer Mini Catalog. This paper is FABULOUS! It arrives all white with an embossed pattern already on it. You have the option of making it whatever color you want by applying ink to the paper.
Supplies used for this project:
 Sage Shadow ink (retiring next month), Elements of Style stamp set (page 12-13 Summer Mini), the adorable Mini Vintage Tags (page 15 Summer Mini), the returning in-color Pink Pirouette, Pretty in Pink 5/8" satin ribbon (not pictured but still available from the Occasions Mini) and Chocolate Chip Classic Ink with the Spritzer Tool.
I LOVE this page. It always helps when you have such handsome subjects to scrapbook!
