Hearts a Plenty - SUO Challenge #193

Howdy Stampers!
Today I am posting my SUO Challenge #193: Hearts a Plenty
And, as you can see, there are plenty of hearts on this ensemble!!
I have created a Valentine card that can be used for any occasion really because it just says "Just for You" with no Valentine sentiment. I love that!
The Painted with Love Specialty Designer Series Paper makes it SO easy to create and coordinates very well with both the Sure Do Love You and the Heart Happiness stamp sets. Add a little sparkle and bling and you have yourself a masterpiece!
Below you can see all the materials I used.  The little box was created to hold three truffles from a local shop.  Hope it inspires you to create your own valentine gift box and card! CASE away if you'd like.  I would be flattered!

  • Smoky Slate – (2) 5 1/8” x 4 1/8”
  • Whisper White – (2) 5” x 4”, 4 ¼” x 5 ½” for stamping, scraps
  • Gold and Silver Glimmer Paper – scraps
  • Silver Foil Sheet – scraps
  • Designer paper – 1 ½” x 12” and 1” x 5”

Instructions:
  • On the largest piece of Whisper White cardstock, stamp two large hearts from Sure Do Love you, one in Melon Mambo and one in Calypso Coral.  Stamp the polka dot heart in Calypso Coral. Die cut these hearts with the appropriate framelits. Stamp ‘Just for You’ in Calypso Coral onto a scrap of Whisper White then trim to 2” x ½” and banner one end with your Paper Snips.
  • Dust an area of your Whisper White paper with the Embossing Buddy. Stamp the banner ‘Sure Do Love You’ with Versamark. Dust with gold embossing powder and heat set. Die cut with appropriate thinlit. Add 3 or 4 dimensionals to this banner.
  • Adhere the short piece of DSP to 4” x 5” Whisper White as shown on the card front.  Layer onto a Smoky Slate mat.  Die cut the small hearts (as shown on the card) from the glimmer and foil scraps. Add all hearts, except the large Calypso Coral, as shown on the card. Adhere the matted card front to the card base.
  • On the second piece of 4” x 5” Whisper White, stamp the large heart frame stamp from Sure Do Love You with Smoky Slate. Stamp the heart  shaped sentiment inside this stamped frame with Calypso Coral.  Layer this piece onto a Smoky Slate mat and adhere to the inside of the card.
  • Construct the Gable Box.  Fit the long strip of DSP around the box, creasing the corners. This will NOT meet completely.  Make sure the gap is where you are going to attach the Calypso Coral heart and the banner.  Adhere the strip of DSP with multipurpose glue or your choice of adhesive. Adhere the heart over the gap in the DSP using multipurpose glue. Add the banner with dimensionals.
  • Tie a 7 ½” length of Calypso Coral Shimmer Ribbon and equal length of gold sequin trim to the handle of the Gable box.

SUO Challenge #141 - HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

Hello Stampers!
Today I decided to play along with the SUO Challenge #141 - making a card with a birthday theme.
This card is make using the Number of Years stamp set.  I have been trying to use the gorgeous ribbon on a card and I think it works quite well on this one.  I am not sure you will be able to see it in this photo but I dabbed a touch of gold Wink of Stella in the center of each flower. It is striking in real life. The banner thinlit is part of the Large Numbers framelit dies. Let's open the card...

The sentiment if from the Fabulous Four stamp set. Indeed it is a fabulous stamp!
Thank you for stopping by today.  Below is a list of the supplies necessary to CASE this card. Click on the icon to order.   Have a great day!!

Papaya Collage

Hi Stampers!
It has been a while since I posted. Sorry about that. Just got busy!!  I was inspired to post by the SUO Challenge team.  They pointed out that approximately 20% of Stampin' Up!'s stamp sets have a bird (or birds) in them and challenged us to create a card using a bird stamp of some kind. So, here is my "For the Birds" card. I used the Papaya Collage set, gold embossing the frame onto Very Vanilla cardstock then masking it off. Reverse masking, I added the sun using Daffodil Delight, So Saffron and More Mustard with a sponge. Taking the reverse mask off, I lightly sponged Daffodil Delight around the sun and Bashful Blue on the rest of the area. Next I stamped the bird with Basic Gray then masked him off and stamped the leaves in Old Olive and Always Artichoke. The focal piece is then mounted onto Basic Gray and Brushed Gold card stock and applied to the Old Olive Card. I LOVE this set! I can see lots of possibilities!   Finally, the sentiment was stamped in Basic Gray from the Loving Thoughts stamp set. Enjoy!

Happy Stampin'!
