These are a couple photos of card samples that I took at Leadership that showcase some new products in the Occasions Mini Catalog. Gotta love the framelits and that doily sizzlit to say nothing about the FABULOUS Everyday Enchantment DSP in the Sale-a-bration Catalog! Unfortunately, these are not my cards so I do not know who made them but, they sure are pretty!

Home again, home again!

Hi Stampers!
Well, here we are, doing it My Way (with Deborah Bues taking the picture and Nyla Kelley with friends from the MidWest) There were SIX South Texas Big Shots at Leadership this year and I could not have been any prouder of them all!! We had a GREAT time and learned a lot about Stampin' Up! as a company and gained information on improving our businesses.

This first day at Leadership, Misty won the BRAND NEW product that coordinates with our Big Shot...a diagonal plate. This is a 12 x 12 piece that fits the entire Simply Scored board and lines up with each and every 1/8" scored line. However, instead of scoring up and down, it scores diagonally. It is AWESOME! She will bring it to the Group Gathering in February!

This is a great shot of Deborah Bues and my Up-line, Barbara Vogt, during the first day of Leadership.

Oops! Second day at Leadership, Deborah won the new Apothocary Stamp Set and a set of framelits to match it. Woo Hoo!! You GO Deborah!

A neat thing they do every year is the "new promotion" walk across the stage for recognition. Both Deborah and Misty promoted to Supervisors a while back but was "this year" in Stampin' Up! terms.
Here they are...

(Hope you know you can click on the photo to enlarge it!) And, by the time I saw Nyla, I could not get my crazy camera to work right. I just got her photo as she was going back to seat from walking the state as a Sr. Supervisor! Nyla promoted TWICE this year! GO Nyla!!

So... Paula asks me today, "When are you going to update your blog?" Nothing like a good friend to keep me on track!! Sorry for the long hiatus. Glad November is past and I had fun enjoying the hustle and bustle of the holidays. Now...back to business.

You know, in a few short days, it will be 2012!! And then, before you know it...Valentines Day!

November's Rising Star!

We had a great Group Gathering this past Tuesday. BRENDA HEINOLD was crowned our rising star for her accomplishments in October. Way to go, Brenda!!

The first CD Christmas Photo Album Class was tonight. We had a GREAT time! Here is what we made...

Convention 2011

Hi Stampers!!
OH MY GOODNESS!! Can you say FUN!?!?!? Linda, Deborah and I had a FABULOUS (exhausting) time at convention in Salt Lake City last week. The convention theme was "GROW" so, I thought the photo of these adorable flowers was appropriate.
We were able to take a tour of the "home office" and distribution center in Rivertown, Utah, which is located about 30-40 minutes away from the Salt Palace Convention Center. Here is a glimpse of the outside of the building. Even THAT is "pretty". (Remember, you can click on any picture to make it bigger)

First Annual Stampin' Palooza!

Hi Stampers!
Oh my!!! We had a BLAST at Stampin' Palooza this weekend!! I didn't get all the pictures I wanted. A little while into the event, I noticed I had "no card" in my camera. FOOY! So, once everything got underway, I ran home and got it. I DID get THE MOST important photos...the ones of the name badge competition.The ladies who entered the competition did a remarkable job on their tags!! A LOT of creativity, time and effort went into each one. The judges had a hard time picking first and second place. Here are the runners up...

Sara stamped, colored and cut "Totally Tess" out then, applied several layers of Crystal Effects and dimensionals to her.

Jen used "Loads of Love" to make her name badge.

Lori stamped, reverse masked, embossed, glittered, crystal effected, cut, sponged, markered, glued and dimensionaled her "Just Buzzin' By" tag.

Isn't she gorgeous! Nyla Kelley was our May Rising Star. LISTEN TO THIS...she promoted TWICE in ONE MONTH!
Nyla is now a Senior Supervisor!! CONGRATULATIONS, Nyla!!
Not only is she a good business woman, she is an insanely talented stamper!! Look at THIS!

She incorporated the NEW Wild Wasabi embossing powder to emboss the Sail Away image onto Marina Mist cardstock then used a bleach on the sails! A little sponging with Early Espresso really adds mood to this card. Thanks, Nyla!

Bliss - that is what SALE-A-BRATION is!! But, all good things come to an end and SAB is no different.

Now - about the card!
This was one of my "club" cards last month. The inspiration for this card came from Ann Schach. The finished card measures 5-1/4" x 5-1/4" so it fits into our large square envelopes! I think you will be able to figure out how the card was done with the help of the items used listed below. We used the sanding block to lightly sand the raised areas of the embossed cardstock to enhance the design. The circular piece was done on a 1/2 sheet of Whisper White card stock and then centered on the 3-1/2" circle die to be cut the circle. The Bliss flourish was stamped with Versamard and embossed with white embossing powder. We used sponge daubers to apply the three shades of blue then spritzed with Early Espresso and the Spritzing tool. The butterflies were inked first with Versamark then Poppy Parade, stamped on Whisper White the embossed with clear embossing powder and cut out. (the little birdie too!) Hope you give this a whirl. HAVE FUN!

Pampered Chef meets Stampin' Up!

Recently my daughter, Vanessa, became a Pampered Chef consultant. I bought one of these utensil containers that swirl and had to order a second one FOR MY STAMP ROOM! Of course, I HAD to have it say Stampin' Up! so used a (demo order only) Stampin' Up! logo decor element to identify the twirly thingy. Obviously I do not have the PC jargon down yet. 3. I studied German for five years (and was fluent) before I met my husband, Pablo, at a hospital in Chicago. He immigrated from Mexico in 1954 and his mother did not speak English. Back to school to learn Spanish! ~Darn the luck~
3. I have four children. Three sons and one daughter, all grown. *AND* my very first grandchild - Belle Sophia was born November 30, 2010.
4. I had NEVER done ANY stamping or scrapbooking until 2007 when my friend helped me make rehearsal dinner invitations for my son's wedding. In fact, I thought I had had a "creative by-pass" at a very early age. LOL!!
5. I do not smoke, drink, do illicit drugs nor cheat on my husband. I just play with paper and ink...and LOVE it! I have been richly blessed with many new friendships as a result of becoming a Stampin' Up! demonstrator

7. I have two Schnauzers. Their names are Buddy and Chico. I hope that one day I can live up to how wonderful THEY think I am!!
8. I am leaving on an all expense paid cruise to Alaska with my husband in May, compliments of Stampin' Up! (which is a fabulous company to work with/for).

Borders and Frames

Hi Stampers!

Take a look at what we made at my March "Group Gathering" of demonstrators!I used various border punches to make frames. These frames were made using the

Scallop Edge Border punch (119882,

Pinking Heart Border punch (117649),

Eyelet Border punch (119853),

Scallop Trim Border punch (118402) and finally, the

Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border punch (119275).

To make the display board (on a 12 x 12" piece of Basic Black cardstock) I used both a 3" square and a 2-3/4" square piece of Whisper White cardstock. This is a great display for customers to see the different possibilities and a great display for stampers to use to crop photos to add to the frames for scrapbooking and even (why not?) to cards! Hope you will make a display and find it handy!

Easter Blossoms Cameo

Hi Stampers!
A very quick post today. For this A2 card, I used the new Easter Blossoms set from the Occasions Mini Catalog. LOVE THIS SET!! The branch was heat embossed with Black embossing powder onto Very Vanilla Cardstock. The cameo was made by stamping the little girls face with Very Vanilla Craft ink onto Basic Black cardstock then embossed using White embossing powder. Punch out with a 1" circle punch. The circle was mashed directly onto the Versamark pad then embossed using clear embossing powder. While the embossing was still hot (and moist), I recovered it with clear embossing powder and heated again. I did this 3-4 times. (Be sure to use a tweezer to hold the little circle while embossing. ) If you do not get to the embossing powder quickly enough, that is okay, just re-Versamark and emboss.
The bottom strip of Basic Black card stock was run through the Big Shot with the Elegant Lines embossing folder. I used some (retired) Very Vanilla Hodgepodge hardware to from her little face.

Alternate use of Stamp

Hi Stampers!

Today's card is a CASE (copy and share everything) of a card byDebra Burgin that I found on her blog.

It uses the single stamp "Be My Valentine" (122045) found on page 43 of the Occasions Mini catalog which was stamped with Pretty in Pink and versamark and embossed with Iridescent Ice embossing powder. On this card, the be my valentine is covered with ribbon and a sentiment from "You're A Gem" (122268) found on page 25 of the Occasions Mini catalog, was used. The crown is from "Artistic Etchings" (118517) found on page 125 of the Idea Book and Catalog and was embossed with silver embossing powder.

This is a 4.25" x 4.25" SQUARE card using a 4 x 4 piece of DSP. Because the USPS charges extra to mail a square card of any size, I punched the small heart in the lower LEFT corner of the envelope and then glued a 1+" of DSP into the envelope. (Put the glue or Snail adhesive on both sides of the DSP on the side that is fartherest away from the edge of the envelope) This adds a decoration to the outside of the envelope, "snugs up" the card inside the envelope and SAVES POSTAGE because now it can be sent for the $.44 since it is no longer a square. I love the win-win-win!

Hi Stampers!
I am finally back on my feet after returning from Leadership Conference very ill with high fevers, body aches and a cough that still lingers. I had a great "new people" workshop tonight and this is one of the cards we made. I am LOVIN' all the new stuff in the Occasions Mini. We used the Framed Tulips Textured Impressions folder (121809, $7.95) to emboss the whisper white before adhering it to the Melon Mambo card. We stamped "You're in my Thoughts, You're in my Heart" from Word Play (120308 $41.95) with Concord Crush Classic Ink (119785, $5.95). Then, the fun began!! After cutting Concord Crush cardstock into Fun Flowers (Bigz L Die, 121812, $32.95) we embossed the pieces with the Square Lattice embossing folder. (119976, $7.95). We added a 3/4" circle (119873, $10.95) between the two layers of petals with dimensionals on both sides of the circle. This gave more dimension to the flower. The leaves were punched from a scrap of Old Olive card stock with the new Blossom Petals Punch (121808, $16.95). Finally the flower was "WOW'd" with a Melon Mambo Button from the Sweet Stitches Designer Big Buttons (122302, $8.95) The "thread" on the button is Old Olive 1/8" Taffeta Ribbon (119256, $5.95)

To My Valentine

Hi Stampers!!
If the truth be known, this is probably going to be my husband's valentine from me this year. I think it is safe posting it here as I really don't think he frequents this site but...I thank YOU for visiting!!
Now that Christmas is over, it is time to think of Valentine's Day, St. Patrick's Day, My birthday...(JK), Mother's Day and fun Spring and Summery cards. Today's card is a "Shadow Box" card using Pink Pirouette, Basic Gray and Real Red card stock along with the Love Impressions DSP and the FABULOUS GLIMMER PAPER!! **TODAY** is the first day to click here to view the Occasions Mini Catalog and place an order. You will want to order this glimmer paper early! I don't see how they could possibly stock enough for all of us!! (teehee). I used a tutorial from SplitcoastStampers to make the shadow box. I stamped the front of the shadow box with the French Filigree background stamp(pg 142, 113742, $17.95) in Basic Gray classic ink onto Pink Pirouette cardstock. This card uses two 5.5"x4.25" pieces of cardstock (exactly 1/4 sheet of cardstock), scored on the short side at 1/2" and 1" bilaterally. The back panel has a 3.5" x 4.25" piece of DSP adhered to it and then a 3-D heart punched from the Glimmer Paper. YES, punches work very well on the Glimmer paper!! YAY!!!!!
Because I do not have the 3"circle nor the 3.5" circle dies YET, I used the 2-3/8" scallop circle punch (twice) to make the opening. The tiny words were printed on my computer then punched out with the Medium Jewelry Tag punch (pg 202, 117190, $10.95) and pierced with the paper piercer. Linen thread holds the tiny tags and the FABULOUS little Trinket Key (pg 24 of Occ Mini, 121892)
Now, I admit, I would not want to make this card in quantity but I had FUN playing with all the new things I have gotten so far from the Occasions Mini. And...after all...it IS going to someone QUITE special!!

Be sure to mark January 16th, 2pm on your calendar and plan to attend the ALL NEW "Fancy Folds and Motion" class. In the class, you will receive 6x6 pages with directions which will be put in one of our 6x6 scrapbook albums along with a sample card.

MASCULINE CARD WINNER!

Hi Stampers!
This long lost card was FOUND! YAY!! This is a fabulous card submitted to our Group Gathering Card Contest several months ago by SARA TEAGUE and won! The outside uses the Nature's Nest (113826) and Sincere Salutations (115068) stamp sets. Card stock is Soft Suede, Old Olive and So Saffron as well as some retired Summer Sun.

Opening the card, one is in for a great surprise!! It is a GIFT CARD HOLDER card! How cleaver is this!?!

Here is a side view where you can see that Sara took 2 1x4-1/4" strips, scored at every inch then folded into little "boxes" that will fold as the card is closed. A strip of card stock was adhered to the boxes and extended the full length of the card. Using a piece of designer series paper, she covered the strip, only at the ends, leaving a pocket for a gift card. For the top inside of the card, Sara used Pocket Silhouettes (111672) and on the lower part, back to Nature's Nest.

All the sponging she did with Soft Suede made it the perfect card, especially for a man! Thank you for the submission Sara!!

Today I want to show you a "fancy fold" that was a "sneak peak", at the final Technique Boutique of 2010,of the Fancy Folds and Motion classes I will be holding the third Sunday of every month from 2-4p.m. Although this is a fold used to make a focal point on a card, most of the folds will be different ways to fold cardstock to make interesting cards, some with movement, some gift card holders, etc. So, mark your calendars now! Starting January 16th, plan to join the rest of the gals and learn Fancy Folds and Motion!

Dryer Sheet Sparkle

Hi Stampers!
This post is going to make you all want to go do laundry(...NOT!)
SERIOUSLY, this card was made using a USED dryer sheet! The focal point of the card was made by stamping the image from "A Wish For Peace" onto Bashful Blue cardstock with Basic Black (or Black Staz-On) ink. Using So Saffron, Soft Suede and Old Olive Classic ink and Blender Pens, I colored the image. Once the image was to my liking, it was placed FACE DOWN onto a Big Shot Multipurpose Adhesive sheet (120805-sold in Holiday Mini, page17), cut close to the cardstock and removed, leaving adhesive covering the entire front. Next, place used dryer sheet over the adhesive and smooth down well. At this point, place on the larger scallop square on the Bigz Scallop Square Due die (120903 Holiday Mini page 17) and run through the Big Shot. Finally, cover with Dazzlin' Diamonds glitter and see the beautiful effect. The sparkle is all but impossible to photograph well. The colors used on this card are Bashful Blue, Night of Navy and River Rock. Enjoy!

I'm BACK!

Hi Stampers!
Sorry for the long hiatus but...you know...being a grandmother now...I am slowing down...NOT!
After spending almost a week with the new little angel and her mom and dad, I was home for 2 days and off to Las Vegas for a long weekend. I got to see my UP-LINE, Barbara Vogt, who always INSPIRES me!!

First, today, let me show you the birth announcements and Thank you cards I made for Belle Sophia. I cased the card RIGHT OUT OF THE CATALOG!! You can see it on page 80. Well...I changed the size and the color, etc. but...that is where the inspiration came from. I used Pink Pirouette, Early Espresso and Shimmery White card stock for the card. Teddy was stamped in E. Espresso onto Crumb Cake with the bow being markered in with Pretty in Pink (as the Pirouette did not show up well enough). The inside of the announcement was computer generated, printed in dark brown onto Shimmery White card stock. I have to say, I was pleased with the finished product.

Elite Holiday Party

Hi Stampers!

First, let me tell you that I have the MOST AWESOME ladies on my Stampin' Up! team!! I had an Elite Holiday Party today for those on my South Texas Big Shot Team who met certain requirements. This photo shows the name pins each attendee received.

My wonderful husband, who happens to be the BEST cook in Victoria, grilled fajitas for all of us!

My daugher, Vanessa (on the right) and her friend Whitney pampered us and made the most scrumptious brownies, served with ice cream.

Who are YOU thankful for?

Hi Stampers!

Wouldn't anyone and everyone like to get this card?!?!? Since Thanksgiving is just a few weeks away, my thoughts turn today to a "Thankful for..." card. My hostess clubs actually did this card last month using Thankful for... and Elements of Style Stamp sets, River Rock, Basic Black and Whisper White card stock and Basic Black ink. The 'U' was die cut from chip board with the Serif Alphabet die only after being covered with B. Black cardstock. To cover the 2.5" square piece of chip board, we used the new adhesive sheets in the Holiday mini catalog. What a BREEZE! Wow! The sheets make it SO easy!! We also used the ribbon punch on River Rock CS and put 1/8" Basic Black taffeta ribbon over it. The only thing we used dimensionals on was the sentiment. Oh WAIT! What punch is THAT to fit those words??

It is not a punch at all! Instead, the Top Note die was used to cut about 1/4 of a top note. Then the pointed design portion was put back into the Big Shot and lined up to cut the opposite side. I don't know if that makes sense to anyone. Perhaps I will have to start making videos since verbalizing how to do things gets a bit tricky.

My Christmas House

Hi Stampers!

OH MY GOODNESS!! What FUN I had making this Christmas house!! It is made extremely easy by Stampin' Up! because they have a kit in the Holiday mini that sells for ONLY $5.95! The kit includes all the pieces, cut, scored and ready to decorate and assemble (oh, and the doorknob). I added Candy Cane Christmas (120809) designer series paper for the walls with Real Red card stock embossed with the Square Lattice embossing folder (119976) for the roof. I even made the snow! It is PAPER! Gotta show you that trick sometime!! To view and order, click on the House Kit .
You will see that the decoration above the door was copied right out of the Holiday Mini catalog. Different ideas came from different houses I have seen on-line. (TIP: if you click on any of the photos, they will enlarge for you to take a better look)

The wreath on this side of the house was made from the Flower Burst embosslit (114515) with a 3/4" circle punched out of the middle then, tiny red circles (from the 1/16" circle punch) were added along with the 1/8" taffeta ribbon. If you look closely, you will see Mom and Dad decorating the tree inside the window.

There - I tried to get in a little closer for you. There is an electric tea light lit on the inside of the house. I stamped the silhouettes from Welcome Christmas (118736) in Basic Black ink onto vellum cardstock which is standing up inside the house. I just could not get the camera to cooperate with me to show how precious it looks with the twinkling light on inside. All the window sills have Silver Glass Glitter (120995) on them.

This time the bells from Bells and Boughs (120831) were embossed with gold embossing powder and colored with Stampin' Write Markers, cut out and dimensionaled to the house.

Finally, let me give you a close up of the roof with the "snow" on it...

Jolly Bingo Bits

Hi Stampers!

Are you one of those people who saw the Jolly Bingo Bits stamp set in the Holiday mini catalog and said, "I would never use that! We don't even PLAY Bingo!"?

At first, that is what I thought too. However, I started looking at it in a different way and just

had a Jolly Bingo Bits tags class. Here are samples of a few things we did.

We used the Two Tags Bigz die, The Scallop Duo Bigz Die and the small scalloped rectangle Sizzlet

to make lots of Christmas tags using this set.

Also, these little images fit perfectly on an Avery mailing label which, in turn, fits perfectly around a Hershey's Chunk. This chocolate is nestled in a little tin, decorated with card stock and designer series paper. The tag on the gift box is made with the Jolly Bingo Bits and "very merry" from the Short and Sweet set.

Jolly Old St. Nick

Hi Stampers!
Here is a picture of a simple Christmas card we made in our Stamp-a-Stack for Christmas last month. This is such a happy, nostalgic image of St. Nick. He just makes the card! The image was stamped with Black Staz-on and then colored using ink and aqua painters. His beard was painted with the new Smooch paint. That is difficult to see in the photo but it glistens when in the light.

Today I want to showcase the awesome card that one of my Texas STAMPede club members made. Carol Martin used the Wicked Cool stamp set combined with House of Haunts stamp set and LOTS of black embossing powder to get this amazing look. Hi Stampers!
At St. George 1/2 day Regional today, Deb Valder was sitting at my table and showed us how she writes the ink color on the INSIDE of the stamp pad so that when it is open, you know which color is which. GENIUS! Why didn't any of us think of that?!? Anywau, wanted to share that with you tonight. Was another great day! We had the regional in the morning and...by the way...thanks for all your thoughts and prayers. I have no clue what I actually said during my presentation but everyone seems to have enjoyed the WOW.

After lunch I took a long nap. Then, this evening we had our Business Share and card swap. Oh MY!! The cards this year are magnificant!! Can't wait to share them with everyone when I get home!

Chantilly Lace!

The coral colored scarfs all "found each other" and made our way into the dining room. We were at the Chantilly Lace table and were each one given a roll of the new lace ribbon. Here is the lovely Joann Wiemers of Madison, AL This is Joann's 7th Founder's Circle and she has served on the Advisory Board. Later I should be getting a picture of the entire group.

There was a record album and 50's glasses waiting for us at the table.

Then, Thursday, I slept until after 11 a.m., made it downstairs by 1pm. Hung around and chatted with those others who did not go on the Kanab trip. And, of course, went to Best Buy to get the gadget to download my photos onto my computer. Ate cookies, stamped a little, took a nap. And, finally, went to dinner at the Olive Garden with Sherill Graff. After dinner, I chatted with a bunch of people and finally went to my room to find this lovely "pillow gift."

Founder's Circle 2010

Hi Stampers!!
So sorry it has taken me this long to blog my first (and second) day but, I had no way of getting my photos from my camera to my computer last night. Went out to Best Buy today and got the "fix" for it. So, above you will see the front doors of the hotel when we arrived. Just to prove I got here...

Next, we were met by the most AWESOME "soda jerk" I have ever seen! Bonnie Thurber from SU training dept.

Each had their name on their hat.

We were asked to find our name tag with a scarf attached that we were to wear to the evening meal. Mine was a corel color.

Then we were met by another soda jerk, Kori. She is from the marketing department at SU. She was the queen of candy apple cutting!! The following pictures are self explanatory. Remember the photos from convention of at the Sweet Shop goodies? Well, here they are...with REAL SWEETS!!!!!

We also had a challenge Swap at our Group Gathering last night. I am SO impressed with these creations!
The challenge was to use a stamp, punch or die for something other than what it was originally intended. Here ya go!

Trying to think COOL

Hi Stampers!
These little guys are from the stamp set on the back cover of the catalog titled Tag Alongs. $2 is donated to the Ronald McDonald charity for every one of these sets that is sold. So, if you do not have it, put it on your wish list! Of course, you could do this same idea with the baby bottles and spell out BABY in pink or blue. I inked the penquins up with a black Stampin' Write Marker to OMIT the To: and From:. Then, using a Stamp-a-ma-jig (or not) stamp NOEL with the Lovely Letters set. Card stock: Marina Mist, Whisper White. Ink colors: Cherry Cobbler, Garden Green and the same markers along with Basic Black. I used a piece of Whisper White card stock the same size as the card, tore it in half, turned it around and made the snow. I added Dazzlin' Diamonds using the 2-way glue pen. Snowflakes are from the stamp set Snow Swirled and stamped in Whisper White craft ink. Enjoy!

Halloween is coming!

Can you believe it is time to get ready for Halloween already!?! I wanted to share a card we made at our August hostess clubs. It is made with the Wicked Cool stamp set on page 23 of the Idea Book and Catalog. We used every stamp in the set and had a great time doing it! We used the new Bitty Bat punch and "blinged him up" with the fabulous new rhinestones. We also stamped the inside of the card as seen below.

My Digital Studio

Hi Stampers!

I am SO excited! I got the thank you cards back from the printer that I made with My Digital Studio and they are AWESOME! To be real honest, I really did not think I would like a MDS card BUT - take a look at this and see what you think. In my (humble?) opinion, this is the most personalized thank you card I have ever seen and I think it will be treasured by my nieces who are to receive them.

A little history - My mother was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease in 2004. These pictures are from her last trip from Iowa to my home in Texas. My two nieces traveled with her so she could come down to visit. My entire family got to spend time with "Granny" while she still knew them all. Today, we continue to go visit her, even though she does not know us anymore. I am SO grateful for the time we spent together this autumn weekend in 2006. That is why this card, with the photos, is very special and could only be customized so completely in a program like My Digital Studio.
There is a My Digital Studio Class tonight at 6:30pm. The class is FREE. There are several ladies who have been coming over, bringing their laptops and learning more about the program. Each of you are invited to attend - FREE - to view the program and see what it has to offer. Drop me an email if you plan to attend. Hope to see many of you TONIGHT!

Founder's Circle Documents Arrived Today!!

Just had to post a picture of what arrived today. It is a travel document folder, the documents, a brochure about Founders' and two luggage tags that say "FABULOUS". Included was all the information I need for my upcoming trip to St. George, Utah.

Oh my! Where does the time go? It has already been almost a week since I posted anything! Today I want to show you the CUTE "new address" card that my son and daughter-in-law did while they were visiting last weekend. This is the "picture" part of the postcard. We used at least four stamp sets to complete the postcard. Here is the other side...

Yes, that "Postcard" stamp is from Winter Post. They did have to go out to a local store and pick up the flamingo stamp. Since they moved to "Flamingo Drive" that little guy just HAD to be there!
Just wanted to share with you what imagination, creativity and mixing a few stamp sets can do! A really cute postcard that will mail for just 28 cents!

Sorry for the hiatus!

Hi Stampers!

First let me apologize for not blogging for so long! Being gone for convention was grand but the coming home was something to be reckoned with! Then, we had people on vacation at work so that meant more time there.

So, now...on with STAMPIN'!!

I am VERY excited to show you one of the techniques we did at this month's Technique Boutique. I called it Bubble Background. We had a BLAST doing it!! Here is the card we made:

Isn't that an interesting background? We used Elegant Eggplant, More Mustard and Garden Green re-inkers for this background. Let me tell you how we did it...

1. Pour "Bubbles" (you know, the kind you buy for the kids to blow bubbles with) into a shallow bowl. We used small "prep bowls."

2. Add between 15 and 20 drops of re-inker into the "Bubbles" using one color per bowl.

3. Get your Whisper White card stock ready

4. Put a straw into the "Bubbles' and start blowing (gently, please). (This will make bubbles-a-plenty) Blow the bubbles until they raise well above the rim of the bowl.

5. Touch your paper to the bubbles without hitting the rim of the bowl. As the bubbles 'pop', a pattern will decorate your card stock.

Oh my!! I wish you could have seen all of us acting like excited kids blowing bubbles and ooooing and ahhhhing. The best tip I can give you is to put additional card stock on the table next to the bowls. As the bubbles pop, tiny speckles of ink land on them and make the design even more interesting when you use them for the next group of bubbles backgrounds.

Don't you know that your kids and grandkids will have a BLAST with this technique?!? They will think they have the COOLEST mom or grandma EVER!

Promise this to be the last post about Convention 2010. I sincerely wish every single one of my downline could attend convention! It is an experience like no other! Imagine yourself being surrounded by talented, upbeat, happy stampers for three days...and sometimes a whole week (if you opt for the pre-convention classes): Seeing successes, seeing samples, hearing encouraging words AND getting FREE stamps!! If this is something you want to do, become a demonstrator if you are not one already, mark your calendar for July 13-17th, 2011 (or 10-17 if you go to pre-convention).
Then, CALL ME and we can meet and set your goal to
pay for the expenses to get to Convention and the stay there.

Today has been a FABULOUS day!! Linda found out that she achieved a Recruit Crew award and will be having "Breakfast with Shellie" on Friday morning! Then, I found out that I made Founders' Circle AGAIN! Oh My Gosh!!! A HUGE thank you to all my loyal customers and downline!

Hello from Salt Lake City, the day before Convention 2010 gets underway. For the past two days, Linda and I have participated in all the Late Night Stamper activities which included two evenings with Ilene Meckley, an amazing motivational speaker who has overcome more than most of us can imagine. She has written several books and has many CD's to help professionals in direct sales (YOU AND ME!) So, after the presentation today, Ilene was offering a special "package price" on her publications when Sherrill came to the microphone. Sherrill explained that she generally draws for one lucky attendee to receive a prize from her BUT, this year, she decided to recognize one individual for her hard work and achivements. She said that she knew if this demonstrator had the materials, she would surely share it with her entire downline, then added that she expected one day for this demonstrator to be in the top 100 demonstrators in Stampin' Up! NO PRESSURE! Then, she proceeded to award ME with a complete package of Ilene Meckley's powerful, informational publications. Ilene describes "painting a picture" with words. She is an amazing woman and I can hardly wait to get home to tell you all about it!

All I can say is...we are here! Totally exhausted so getting to bed early! WHAT!?!?! No, I am not sick. Just have to be at the first event by 7:30 in the morning. Ribbon, Ribbon and more Ribbon...

Because there is SO much new ribbon this year, causing the per person price to be quite high, I am wondering if anyone would be more interested in the Ribbon Share if the ribbons were ordered in two separate months, making the price 1/2 of the before listed price (for two months). NEW CATALOG RIBBON SHARES

Hi Stampers!

Have you SEEN all the new ribbon in the new Idea Book and Catalog!?! There is SO much new ribbon and...I want it ALL!! I am sure many of you do too! So, I am going to, once again, offer a "Ribbon Share". The details follow, based on five participants. Please let me know AS SOON AS POSSIBLE if you want to be a part of the share. Each person will get 1/5 roll of ribbon. Sometimes this is 3 yards, sometimes 2 yards and, in the case of the crochet trim...1 yard.

TWO OPTIONS:

OPTION #1

ALL THE RIBBON...PERIOD!

This option gives you 1/5 of every roll of every color offered in the catalog. There are 5 colors of the Stiched Poly, 11 colors of 1-1/4" striped Grosgrain, 13 colors each of 1/4" grosgrain, 1/8" taffeta, 5/8" grosgrain, 3/8" taffeta. There are 2 styles of crochet trim and one style/color each of 5/8" white organza and 3/8" twill.

So - a total of 72 different ribbons in all for $120.00 per person.

OPTION #2

ALL THE NEW RIBBONS (NOT IN THE LAST CATALOG)

(These are represented in the catalog with an "n" beside them)

This option gives you 1/5 of every roll of every NEW ribbon and/or NEW COLOR ribbon.

There are 5 colors of the Stiched Poly, 8 new colors each of 1-1/4" striped grosgrain and 5/8" grosgrain,

10 new colors of 3/8" taffeta, 4 new colors of 1/4" grosgrain, all 13 colors of the new 1/8" taffeta, 2 styles of crochet trim and one of the 3/8" twill tape. All this for $88.00 per person.

2-Tone Embossed Butterflies

Hi Stampers!
Here is one of the cards we made today in our Technique Boutique Class. The Technique is called Two-tone embossing. The label was made with Brushed Silver cardstock and the Matchbox Die. There are three labels on that Extended Die. This one just happens to fit the "Great Friends" stamp set's sentiment and worked perfectly on this card. We used Brushed Gold as the card base with Lavender Lace (being discontinued on Wednesday) along with both Gold and Silver embossing powder. Finally added the Silver and Gold cording (which is no longer available...found out when I tried to order some this evening.) Let me know what you think of the card.

Single Layer Card from Vegas

Hi Stampers!
Today's post is another card I photographed while in Las Vegas at my upline's house. Barbara Vogt did this SINGLE LAYER card using the reverse masking technique. In other words, she cut a circle in a piece of paper and then placed the paper over the cardstock, sponging color through that circle. With the paper still in place, the background stamp was used. Finally, after removing that "reverse mask" piece of paper, she stamped the flower from "Of the Earth" and the sentiment from "Short and Sweet." Very easy, quick card that looks awesome. If you haven't made a single layer card, I challenge you to do one and send me a link to a photo of it. I will be happy to post your work.

Back from Vegas...

Hi Stampers!
We got back from Las Vegas on the 14th at which time I was not feeling too well. So...I apologize for the gap in postings. Today I wanted to share some photos of cards my upline, Barbara Vogt, has made. They were cased from cards Shelli did on her 'Workshop of a Lifetime' tour. Barbara did a fantastic job at re-creating them!!

As you can see, each one uses a stencil with different papers, textures and colors to make each very unique but no less beautiful. Both quick and easy. Why not give stencils a try?

Presto Vintage

Hi Stampers!
Wow! June got here quickly!! May, as you know, is National Scrapbooking Month. In honor of that and to honor my aunt and uncle, I did this scrapbook page using the new Presto Patterns Specialty Designer Series Paper found on page 15 of the Summer Mini Catalog. This paper is FABULOUS! It arrives all white with an embossed pattern already on it. You have the option of making it whatever color you want by applying ink to the paper.
Supplies used for this project:
Sage Shadow ink (retiring next month), Elements of Style stamp set (page 12-13 Summer Mini), the adorable Mini Vintage Tags (page 15 Summer Mini), the returning in-color Pink Pirouette, Pretty in Pink 5/8" satin ribbon (not pictured but still available from the Occasions Mini) and Chocolate Chip Classic Ink with the Spritzer Tool.
I LOVE this page. It always helps when you have such handsome subjects to scrapbook!

End of School

Hi Stampers!
This little desk was inspired by "Brenda" from Hawaii. It would make an AWESOME teacher appreciation gift. Any teacher would be tickled to receive it. I made it as a "Congratulations" gift for my daughter who is completely her first full year as a full-time 5th-6th grade teacher.

Brenda's desk was built from a pattern she purchased.
I made my 'desk' using the matchbox die. I cut six matchboxes and, after adding a little designer series paper to the drawer front and a Chocolate Chip corduroy button brad for the drawer pull, I glued three boxes together, one on top of the other using Tombow Multi glue. The boxes were further reinforced by adding a strip of card stock around the entire stack, gluing it together on the bottom. For the desk top, I used the thin cardboard from the back of the designer paper packaging and glued a piece of Chocolate Chip card stock to each side then glued it to the top of both towers. TIP: Set the towers the distance apart you want them on your grid sheet. Be sure they were square by lining them up on front and inside edges on the grid lines. Then you will know how far apart they are SUPPOSED to be.
Finally, I added a 1/2" wide, Z-folded piece of card stock covered cardboard to brace the towers from leaning into each other. The inside measurement is the distance you originally set the towers apart from each other.
These directions are difficult to put in words. If these instructions do not make sense to you and you are interested in making one, please email or, better yet, call me and I can try to explain further.

Fourth of July Card

Supplies you will need for this card:
Stamps: Fourth of July
Card stock: Real Red 8-1/2" x 5-1/2", scored at 4-1/4", Brilliant Blue (soon to be retired) 4-3/4 x 3-1/2, Whisper White scraps
Ink: Real Red
Accessories: Real Red Satin Ribbon, larger of the two Star Punch, Dimensional (to dimensional the bottom right corner star up over the existing star.

MARK YOUR CALENDARS!

Hi Stampers!
The photograph today is a look at the weeding out process. With the help of Ann G., I have gone through all my stamps sets and have decided on all the sets for sale.
Mark your calendars for SUNDAY, JUNE 6th, 2:00-5:30pm
I will be having my LAST CHANCE OPEN HOUSE and will be selling a lot of my retired stamp sets at discounted prices...in fact, approximately 30% off the retail price, not to mention the S&H and tax savings.

Because of the great deals, you won't want to miss this!! So there will not be any pushing, shoving, fighting (NOT THAT ANY OF MY WONDERFUL CUSTOMERS WOULD DO THAT ANYWAY) or, most importantly, no hard feelings, I plan to have a system in place where everyone will be given a number. Everyone will have a chance to look all the sets over and then, numbers will be called, allowing each 'number' to get ONE set. Then, numbers will be called again and each person will be allowed to choose TWO sets, etc. until 1) everyone has what they want or 2) all the sets are gone. I will also have various other items for sale...Designer paper packs, etc. So, if you want to arrive a tad early to LOOK at everything, be my guest. Stake out a PLAN of what you will get at FIRST grab, SECOND grab and so forth. Should be a scream!

Build a Bear Dollhouse

Hi Stampers!

I have finally completed my Build-a-Bear dollhouse, along with Bears who stand up and can be dressed with different clothes. I will be sending out an invitation today for you to sign up to make one for your grand-daughter, God-daughter or the little girl within YOU! I had SO much fun making this!! We will make the house, which COMPLETELY folds up like a book and ties closed with ribbon, on Thursday evening, June 17th from 6:30 to 8:30. Then, we will meet again to finish the furnishings and make the bears and their clothes on Saturday afternoon, 2-5pm on the 19th. The workshop will include one package of designer series paper (your choice of "home decor" paper), a full set of printed instructions, a tin to house your bears and all their clothes.

First Brayered Card

Hi Stampers!

This photo, found in the 2007 Jan-Mar issue of Stampin' Up's "On Stage" magazine,

gave me the inspiration for my first brayered card that I will teach in classes and clubs this month. ("On Stage" was later combined into our current Stampin' Success magazine.)

OK...mine is not as 'bright' as the photo but, the inspiration came from the photo none the less.

Also have been working on a fold-up Build-A-Bear paper doll house. It is finally finished!! Check back later in the week for photos of it.

Bleached Bird

Hi Stampers!
Do any of you have a blender pen that you accidently left open
or 'washed' with water, that is now dried up? DON'T throw it away!
I used a dried up blender pen to "color" this little bird (with BLEACH) that I
stamped with black Staz-On onto Close to Cocoa card stock.
The bleached out color made the decision on the colors I used on the card,
So Saffron and Handsome Hunter. I also used Chocolate Chip and Handsome Hunter
Stampin' Write Markers to complete the bird.
It is fun to see how the different colored papers bleach out differently. Check it out!
Tip: I used an empty glitter jar for a dab of bleach. This way, I can close it when not in immediate use
to prevent catastrophe!

Bling Brads

Hi Stmapers!
Today, similar but different...
On the same bag as my last post, I wanted a blinged up brad. To do this, you need Whisper White paper, Vintage Vogue flower stamp, a neutral brad, mini glue dots, Pretty in Pink classic ink, snips, mat pack, paper piercer, and fine cosmos rose colored glitter.

First stamp the Vintage Vogue flower, with Pretty in Pink classic ink, onto Whisper White card stock and cut it out using snips.

Next, pierce a hole into the center of the flower using the piercing tool and mat pack.

Put the brad onto a mini glue dot and pull the glue dot from the roll.

Dip the brad, with the glue dot on it, into the glitter.

Oh MY! Isn't it pretty!!

Put the brad through the hole pierced in the flower.

Add to the center of the daisy flower (instead of the 'designer Jumbo Brad".
Now you have "bling" on your bag!
